VERITAS 400 Watt Mono Blocks - TRUTHFUL

Imagine a drumbeat that is as fast as it feels live as it hits you in the chest or a brush on a tom-tom with all the texture of live. TRUTHFUL reproduction of trumpet, cymbal, bass, violin, flute, the female voice, the separate instruments in an orchestra. TRUTHFUL reproduction so life like. You are there with no added euphonic coloration. A total lack of distortion to the point it is below the noise floor itself. CAN YOU HANDLE THE TRUTH? Playing up to 1,200 watts into 2 ohms, the system is clean with a dead quiet background and fast with 39 amperes of pure power in each mono block.


To keep audio purity, all components and layout is very carefully considered and designed. Each component is picked for its sonic purity. From Rhodium/solid copper speaker binding posts to gold plated power inlet contacts to oversized LITZ wire of purest, ultra soft annealed copper, urethane covered in an oxygen free environment.


The amplifier modules are based on the Hypex Ncore1200 engineered by Merrill Audio with attention to detail, LITZ wires, Synergistic Research Tunelling Fuses, Cardas Rhodium plated speaker posts and silver audio pins. Purest Litz copper wire from Cardas is used to give clear, smooth frequency response and sound.


This gives you the quietest Amplifier you will hear and the clearest sound.



VERITAS Power Amplifier Mono Block Setup


For the best results, use the follow instructions. This will give you the best sound stage and most dynamics.

• For fastest speed, plug the Veritas directly into the wall.
• Use only 1 outlet per Mono block.
• Use the same power cord for both the Mono Blocks.
• Keep the power cord as short as possible.
• The supplied cord is Synergistic Research Precision Basik Power Cord.
• Use Balanced sources. A Cardas RCA to XLR Adaptor is provided
• Biwire as much as possible.
• Use the lowest capacitance Interconnects
• Use passive Pre-amps to leave sound uncolored.
• Burn in for at least a week before critical listening.
• Fuse is Synergistic Research Tunneling Fuse. Replace with only this fuse for the best sound.

Deign philosophy.


Start with a solid aluminum block that is 66 pounds. Carve out the chassis from this solid block to limit any sonic interference. Keep the walls 0.5 inches thick to limit and absorb vibration. The result is a solid chassis that is also visually appealing.


The signal paths are designed to be the shortest possible, giving you the cleanest audio signal possible. Longer cables typically use shielding. Excessive shielding introduces capacitances that slow the dynamics of the system, especially power amps, bloating the bass and reducing the high frequencies. Keeping wires short removes the requirement for shielding and lets the speed, control and dynamics of the power amp come through.


Solid core wires have the higher frequency currents run on the edge of the wire, called skin effect. This causes roll off in high frequencies since the skin is smaller than the core. This tends to give a tube like sound or warm sound. To be Truthful, Audio purity requires that the components do not depart any coloration of their own to the sound. Litz wires solve this problem by having multiple smaller strands of insulated wire. The amount of “skin” becomes the same amount of the solid core for the required frequency range, giving a much wider frequency bandwidth that is linear. Litz wire is much more expensive and much harder to work as each strand has to be striped and combined in the wire. All audio wiring in the VERITAS is Litz Wire.


All wiring is done point to point and soldered for the best connections or screwed for the tightest connections. Audio wire for the inputs and the outputs is Cardas Litz Wire. The inputs have Cardas 19 AWG Litz wire. This wire is ultra-pure copper, with extra soft annealed, Oxygen free copper all done in house for the cleanest, softest copper wire. Each strand is coated with urethane enamel in an oxygen free atmosphere. The strands are then combined to form the Cardas Litz cabled used in VERITAS.


Bi-wiring is done from the board to provide true bi-wiring. Each bi-wire cable is Cardas 10 AWG Litz wire for the best connectivity and power transfer. This is directly connected to the Patented Cardas Speaker Binding posts with Rhodium over solid copper posts that are directly connected to the audio output wires. Typical speaker binding posts make their connections through screw threads of the fighting nut. The Cardas posts selected have solid copper posts with Rhodium plate to form full contact directly with the spades, increasing full contact and transfer of audio power.


The Mono blocks are a fully true balanced design with both input signals floating for a true balanced differential input. Enjoy the quiet! Typically balanced lines are used for long cables. However a Balanced Differential helps reduce the noise, regardless of cable length. Having a true balanced differential design is difficult and expensive. Other balanced amps and pre-amps have a balanced circuit by mirroring single ended circuits. However the reference to ground still creates noise. On the VERITAS a full differential input circuit to give you true balanced circuitry. The result being VERITAS mono blocks are dead quiet (see below). The fully differential balanced design is carefully maintained with a floating audio ground. Balanced inputs are Cardas XLR full metal jackets with gold plate over everything. The pins are silver with Rhodium plate for maximum connectivity and life.


Power cables from the power inlet to the board are 14 AWG solid copper wires. The supplied Power Cord is (subject to change) Synergistic Research Precision AC basic Quantum Tunneled Power Cable, the Tesla Series Baby.
